Following a survey of Horse Guards Parade, the façade of this Grade 1 listed building’s stonework was found be affected by substantial cracking. Over the years, the whole façade had also become dull and muted as the effects of the weather had taken its toll.
Our task was to return it to its former grandeur, securing, repairing and cleaning the whole frontage. We began by assembling scaffolding to the full height of the building, and under the watchful eye of English Heritage, we completed the roster of specialist stone façade repairs and comprehensive cleaning to strict Grade 1 specifications. To ensure minimum disruption to Guard Duties, our program of work was carried out 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and was completed within the client’s critical path.
Horse Guards Parade now stands proudly in pristine condition ready to welcome visitors and dignitaries from all over the world.
