Concept Building Services was honoured to be contracted by NHS Estates to undertake the refurbishment of the Multi-Faith Chapel at University Hospital Southampton. As a company that values and supports diversity in both culture and religion, this project held significant importance for us. We were fully committed to delivering the highest standards of workmanship and ensuring that the programme management was executed smoothly, reflecting the care and attention this sensitive project required.
The refurbishment works encompassed a range of essential upgrades designed to enhance both the functionality and aesthetic appeal of the space. This included the installation of new ceilings, modern floor finishes, and high-quality aluminium windows and doors, all of which contributed to a refreshed and updated interior. Additionally, the project involved comprehensive redecoration, the implementation of updated lighting systems, and the installation of new signage to provide clearer guidance for visitors, all while maintaining the chapel’s serene and inclusive atmosphere.
Concept Building Services took particular pride in transforming the chapel’s environment, with a focus on creating a more welcoming and tranquil space for people of all faiths. The installation of a vibrant new carpet and suspended ceiling brightened the interior significantly, enhancing the overall ambiance and making the chapel a peaceful and inviting refuge within the busy hospital setting.
Throughout the project, we worked closely with NHS Estates to ensure that every detail was managed with precision and sensitivity, recognising the importance of the chapel as a place of reflection and spiritual support for patients, staff, and visitors alike. Concept’s ability to successfully balance the technical demands of the refurbishment with the unique needs of the chapel reflects our dedication to delivering quality results on every project, particularly those with a deeper cultural or community significance.
By the end of the works, the revitalised Multi-Faith Chapel had become a modern, peaceful, and inclusive space, offering comfort and solace to all who visited. We are proud to have been a part of this meaningful project, and our work at University Hospital Southampton stands as a testament to our commitment to supporting diverse and inclusive environments within the communities we serve.
